stopping deportation

my boyfriends visa ran out and now he is in jail. We want to get married asap. but will that stop him from being deported??

Depending on the conviction, your boyfriend may be able to apply for adjustment of status in front of the immigration judge once you are married.

You will have to provide more information, as to why was he jailed, whether you are US citizen, his conviction etc. Generally, a person who faces deportation and is married to U.S. Citizen is able to adjust his status in Immigration Court.
