Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

Are these forms also good for international work for hire? I use people on guru.com and odesk and many of the people are over seas so I need a contact that is national and international as well...I want to keep all the rights to the illustrations that I have hired them to make.

I present them with the idea and ask them to draw the illustrations or my shirts/stamps/book covers etc.

Michelle,

If you're working internationally, you should have an intellectual property ("IP") attorney draw up any agreements you need. Laws governing the protection of IP vary from country to country, so forms that are valid in the USA may or may not be valid in, say, China or Vietnam or India or other countries.

There are many superb IP firms in New York City (you are close to NYC judging by your zip code), or you can venture out of the City for terrific service at a lower price. The choice is yours.
