Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
chrismas bonus
I am an hourly employee at a non union manufacturere. My employer gave everyone else a $20 to $100 bonus and they did not give me anything. I looked in the employee manual and there is nothing about any bonuses being paid. Can they do that?

Re: chrismas bonus
Yes. As long as the decision to withhold a bonus from you was not based on a protected characteristic. In other words, as long as your employer did not exclude you from a bonus BECAUSE of your age, gender, race, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, sexual preference or other protected characteristic, the behavior is legal.
