Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I am contemplating leaving my job after 10 months. My contract states that I will have to repay my signing bonus if I leave the company within the first year.
A few months after I was hired, my position was eliminated, and I was transferred to a similar role at the same pay. I gave it a shot but haven't enjoyed the new role.
I'm wondering if the terms of my employment offer (in particular the sign-on bonus repayment clause), which reference the eliminated position throughout, continue to govern my new position.
