Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
We were notifed on July 6 that our pay was reduced effective with the July 16 pay. Our July 16 pay was for work performed June 26 through July 9.
Isn't that a retroactive pay cut? Is that legal?
I know the pay cut itself is legal, but question the legality of it being retroactive.

Yes, you are entitled to the prior rate up to and including the date of notification.
The NY State Department of Labor should be able to help you.
