Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
Pay checks by mail
My employer change his policy on payroll, they now send pay checks in the mail. I'm not happy with that because all my personal info is on every pay stub. And I have had some trouble with my mail in the past.
Do I have any rights on pay checks being send by mail.

Re: Pay checks by mail
Probably not. Unless you have a contract of employment, you are an "employee at will" and cannot force your employer to send paychecks in a certain method. There is a slight (very slight) chance that the "policy" you mentioned could be construed by a Court as a contract and if that policy specified the manner in which employees were to be paid that the employer could not unilaterally change the policy. I would not be confident enough in bringing that case.
My best advice would be to explain your predicament to your supervisor and ask whether they will make an exception for you.
