Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
Ok I stopped working for one job when i found a better job at a seasonal job witch i return to april first. I have gone out on unemployment starting in november. Now the place I worked at before i got my seasonal job is trying to tell the unemployment office that i still work there when it was pretty obious that i quit after not going to work for like 8 months. I would never work at that place again and like i said i have a job with a return date of april 1st. There were so many reasons that i quit my first job it was just an awfull place to work and when i had the chance to get a new job i jumped at it and now these people are messing with my life again by trying to make the unemployment office believe that I still work there when i quit that job 8 months ago. Thry sent me a letter saying this chris we have hours here for you as if i actually still work there and then it said if I don't get back to them that they will notify the unemployment office. S o should I even worry about this what will happen

This is extremely odd. Do you have proof that you quit, e-mails, letters, a letter of resignation with an acknowledgement of such, indications on your last paycheck that it was final, job announcements for your positions? Was the seasonable work full time? If so, was it during the same hours you would have worked had you remained at the first company?
In any event, send the letter to the company certified mail, return receipt that you quit on X date, that you worked at Y company from [dates] and other information that would otherwise force them to leave you alone.
With all or most of the evidence noted above, with the certified letter, you shouldn't have a problem.
