Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York
My son is on my lease then left to go out of state to attend school and
decided to work part time to support himself, MGMT. is claiming that although my son
has not been living with me, 3 years later I am being told while my son was away
in school and worked, that I am responsible for rent arrears of those 3 years, witch adds up to 9.000 dollars that I don;t have I. Live on Disability. Can I be held responsible?

You are responsible for the terms and conditions on your lease agreement with the landlord. If the son has a separate lease, you are not responsible for your son's lease unless you guarantee payment on behalf of your son.
