dog injured

a friend droped my yorkie terrior puppy while she was in my house alone. my dogs needs4000$ in surgery. what type of lawyer do i get for this type of case. and do i only pay if i win ?

Dogs are considered "property" in NY, so you would not be able to sue for personal injury. Therefore, you would have to sue her for damages to your property.

You don't need an attorney in this case, you can file an action in small claims court. You will need proof that the dog has been injured by your friend and also records and bills fro mthe the vet.
