Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

I live in a private house next door to an apartment building. The children come home around 3pm and the parents let them outside to play- sometimes supervised, other times not (when they are supervised, the parents have no qualms about screaming their heads off as well). The section they play in is a small pathway on the buildings property that runs parallel to my house (separated by a fence). I can hear them screaming and shrieking until around 6pm every single day from my room. It prevents me form sleeping (I have an irregular schedule) and from studying. I have neither complained to the neighbors directly nor to the police even though this has been disturbing me for over 6 months. I am wondering if I have any cause of action here or what steps, if any, I could to take to make this stop.

I suppose you could try making a noise complaint with the municipality, but this generally relates to construction, roadway excavation and the like. Childrens' propensities are to run, play and make noise. Courts are well aware of this, so I seriously doubt you have recourse to any legal action. Best, M. E. Zuller
