Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

model hurt in car accident

I was stopped waiting to turn onto my street when i was hit from behind by a jeep doing 40 mph...he never stopped until he hit me...i obtained a broken nose and suffer from incredible back pain. modeling is how i make my money, im an amateur new to the field but had just started getting exposure when this happened, while the police were taking our info and i was being put into an ambulance the officer gave me a ticket for court because my license was suspended,i did not know this at the time...am i still eligible to file a suit against them? and what would due compinsation be for my injuries? even if its just a strained back?

Re: model hurt in car accident

The issue of a suspended license is irrelevant. I am currently handling a similar rear-end accident involving a model. The most important thing for you to do is to retain an attorney before speaking with the insurance company for the vehicle that struck you. If you have any questions, please call 212-208-2470. Best of luck!

Hi there-

I received your inquiry on 9-25-2000.

Certainly you can sue...and the fact of the suspended license is not of any significance.

Additionally, the fracture of the nose helps in a car accident because unlike a regular accident, there are more hurdles to overcome when you are hurt in a car accident.

The value of the case cannot be determined at this time because I need to see the medical documentation. Potential lost earnings may be recoverable, if they are able to be proven.

Please feel free to contact me more for any answers to your questions.

Good Luck
