Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Add mother's name to deed

My mother's house is in my name. There is not a mortgage on the house, only an equity loan for $16,000. Can I add my mother's name to the deed without paying off the loan? My name will remain on the deed and the equity loan is in my name.
