Rental Fees and deposit
A rental brokerage in NYC has kept my deposit and first months rent plus their 15% fee for an apartment that I did not sign the lease for and in which I am not living. They said they were returning the cashier's checks but they haven't. They also cashed one check. Isn't this illegal and aren't they obligated to give me all of my money back less the 300.00 apllication fee? It's 14,000.00. AT first they told me I had signed away my rights to the money, but then they said they were sending it to me. How do I get the checks back from them, as the bank needs them to re-credit my account? I NEVER signed a lease
