Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York
sexual harrassment
I have worked, summer months only, for a painting contractor. This is the third year I worked for this man. During the time I worked for him he constantly made comments about my looks, my skin, how beautiful I was, touched me to feel my skin, etc. The last week I was employed last year he told me to ''shake that thing'' as I walked to my vehicle to get something. I refused to work side by side with him that afternoon. He later apologized for his behavior after being prompted to do so by the other men on his crew. This summer he has continued to make comments, and even photographed me on a ladder as I worked. I have responded negatively to his actions by ignoring him. He phoned me early this week to tell me he no longer needed my services. A member of his crew called to let me know that he fired me because he was angry that I had spoken to a client regarding a color choice, he commented that I was a ''control freak'' and I acted like ''a little girl''. Do I have any course of action?

Re: sexual harrassment
You may have a sexual harassment lawsuit. You should see an attorney before reporting the case to the EEOC.
