I'm 20 years old, and the state of NY has a six figure tax lean against my parents. I had a joint bank account with my mother as this was required as I'm under 21, but it's not a custodial account. The state of NY took my $45,000 from the account, which I legally earned, and can prove. Is there any possibility of me getting this back? What are my options? I do not owe, and never have owed anyone any money.

If you can establish with certainty that the money was yours, and that your parents had no legal right to it, there are procedures for you to recover the amount seized by New York State.
