Legal Question in Tax Law in New York

Falsely declared by step-parent as employee on their tax forms

Here is my basic query:

If my stepdad declared me as an employee and I filed income taxes in 05 and 06 (i was 17 and 18 years old) stating that I had earned $24k a year when in reality I had only worked for him for two months and earned $2k (i have bank statements to prove this), do i have any basis for litigation?

It is difficult to identify the party against whom you wish to litigate.

In order to be successful in litigation it is necessary to establish that you suffered economic injury. The only economic injury I can envision is in the event the Internal Revenue Service examines your individual income tax return and you incur legal expenses in connection with that examination. There may be other scenarios, but they don't come to mind.
