Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

parking violation

I got a ticket for a missing sticker in NYC in 2006 I never paid it and I just received a letter saying that it's in judgment, what does that mean?

Re: parking violation

It means that you were found in default of the ticket and therefore guilty and a money judgement was entered against you in the record of the county clerks office and can be recorded in any county clerks office where you own property or reside.

It can also have an effect when you go to renue your drivers license or renue your auto registration.

You should clear this up as soon as possible. If you feel you were not guilty you can try to file an appeal to open the default but you will need to state why you defaulted and then demonstrate a legitimate defense to the charge.

Good Luck
