Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

admin. not being co-operative

Make a long sory short, my oldest brother was appointed administrator for my dads estate. It was in the will(a copy) that everything be split 5 ways.My guestion is how do I find out what exactely is going on with the sale of his house and how do the remaining funds get disstributed?

My brother has not discussed any finacial matters with the rest of our family and he's not on speaking terms with anyone at this time.Do I have a right to contact the lawyer that is handling the estate and ask him for answers or will he tell me he's representing my brother? Thank You

The lawyer should communicate with you.

Re: admin. not being co-operative

The lawyer represents the Estate, not your brother. Since you are a distributee, he has a duty to speak to you.

Call him and ask questions.
