How to close out an Estate in Manhattan

There is property in Manhattan which belongs to an estate. The Will was probated in New York and New Jersey. We now need to close out the property in Manhattan. I need to find statutes and procedures to ensure the correct process of same. I'm hoping this will help with the actual book research I must eventually do. I'm hoping that you might be able to give me a statute or statutes that may begin my search.

Go to findlaw.com (or any other legal site that provides forms) and go to the New York forms page. Download the Probate Accounting form in the Surrogate's Court category and follow the instructions.

The probate clerk will be very helpful.

If that fails, hire a lawyer.

Good luck.
