Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

compensation for family member care giver

I have been the full time family member care giver for my mother. I have been taking care of her 24 hours 7 days a week for the last two years. At the time my mothers will is probated can I submit a request to the court, to be compensated for the time I was her care giver and if so, what rate of payment is allowed.

Thank you in advance

Re: compensation for family member care giver

You've got a problem.

Only your mother can arrange for your compensation. She can do it in her Will or she can express it in a writing which states that she has agreed to pay you X dollars for your services. There is no standard rate of compensation
