court account

eight years ago my aunt died and left money to me.Lawyer could not find me and the money went to a court account. What should i do?.

The easiest thing to do is to call the probate clerk at the Surrogate's Court where the will was probated. I am confident that the clerk will be very helpful.

IT IS A RELATIVELY EASY PROCEDURE TO APPLY TO THE COURT TO OBTAIN YOUR INHERITANCE, AND THE PROBATE CLERK CAN GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE PROCEDURE, WHAT FORMS ARE NEEDED AND WHAT DOCUMENTATION YOU MUST PRODUCE TO VERIFY WHO YOU ARE. YOU PROBABLY WILL HAVE TO MAKE A BRIEF COURT APPEARANCE ALSO.
