Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Estate Law re compensation

I am a RN. I took care of my Mother-in-Law 24/7 for 1,740 hrs. , at her request. I will bill the Estate for my service.

Are the executor and Estate Attorny required to pay me. I kept daily nursing notes.

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Since there appears to be nothing in writing, approving your rendering of services, anticipate some resistance unless the family agrees. Hopefully, they will recognize your services were not to be gratuitious, despite the family relationship, and your bill will be paid. Of course, if the family knew you were to be rendering this service, and it was not to be free, you should have no problem.
