Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Where do I find an affidavit that goes along with my will in NY? I have been told that I need one. I am hoping that there is an affidavit form that I can fill out myself.

You are probably thinking about a self-proving affidavit. This is a form for the witnesses to sign so that in case your will is contested, they might not have to go to court. It must be notarized. But I urge you to go see an attorney if you are drafting your own will. There are many parts of the law you may not be thinking about when you do your own. There are other forms that are just as important as a will, such as a power of attorney and health care proxy. If your assets are worth protecting, they are worth protecting correctly.
