Joint Account

My mom and I have a joint account

with Citibank. She is a New York

resident. She is the lead IE. Her SS

# receives the interest and pays

taxes. If she passes do I have the

right to take the money or must it

go through her estate and probate

first?

Check with the bank to find out what type of account is in existence. If it provides for right survivorship then the survivor takes the entire account without probate proceeding.
