Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

I have lived and taken care of an elderly man for 15 yrs,we both own homes in ny & florida.what entitlment would we have to each others assets? we are not married legally but have been together this long thank you

Probably none, unless you have provided by will or joint ownership for transfer on the death of the first to die.

NY law doesn't allow for roommates to inherit. If your name isn't on the title, and you have no contractual agreement (I'm assuming you're not married), then you have no rights. Either re-title the property NOW or prepare wills NOW.
