Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Making a change to a will

I currently have a will and I'm thinking about deleting a few people from it. A friend said to me regardless of making this change to the will, those people will be notified when I die that they were in the will and omitted. Is this true? If so, can't I just make a new will?

Also, are wills registerd with a court after you make them?

Re: Making a change to a will

You can prepare a new Will and revoke all prior Wills (and in fact destroy all old Wills). In that event only the people mentioned in your new Will will receive notification.
