Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
overseas property
My grandmother left my mother one of three parcels of land in Mallorca, Spain. When my mom passed away last year, I inherited the land. There are two more parcels that were willed to my two uncles, my grandmother's sons. One of my uncles has been in touch with a realtor recommended by the American Embassy when he visited Spain last year to view the land, along with an attorney whom he's been working with. They seem to be dragging their feet as far as pricing the land and putting it on the market. By the same token, my uncle isn't being as aggressive as he could be to try to sell the property. My question is, is there a way to sever all dealings with the people in Spain and deal with an American attorney with a Spanish counterpart? Could the same be true about a realtor? How would he go about that?

You are free to choose any counsel and broker you wish. Of course you will pay them, but that is your choice.
