Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Can both the person writing the will and also the beneficiary of the will use the same lawyer or is this a conflict of interest? Is each state different?

There very well may be a conflict of interests, however, if full disclosure is made by the lawyer to both parties and both parties agree to the existence of a conflict and nevertheless proceed, the relationship is appropriate. The lawyer must remove himself if he finds that the conflict so severe that he is forced to take sides.
