Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Will and Bequest Guidance

I work in the development office at a nonprofit organization. I am often asked for advice on how to create a will and make a bequest to our organization. I was wondering if there was some sort of brochure or brief information package I could send to our supporters to help them out. Any advice you could give me on this matter would be very useful. Thank you.

Re: Will and Bequest Guidance

Hire an attorney to draft a sample clause

for inclusion in a will

Include this in your literature

It is legal, as you are not actually

doing the will

The local museum and science center has

done this for years

You can probably get good guidance, advice and forms from the United Jewish Appeal/Federation of Jewish Philanthropies on East 59th Street.

Charles Goldman, Esq. 212-836-1531 is very helpful even if his institution is not the recipient of a gift.
