can i find out if my father has a will made? is there some form of public filing He is still alive at 80 yrs old Can his attorney tell me if there is a will on file and not what it says?

You have no right to access the will of a living person. In fact, a will of a living person has no legal significance. It only becomes operative when the writer of the will dies.

A lawyer would violate ethical prohibitions if the existence of a will is disclosed without the consent of the writer of the will.
