Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York
jury duty
I am on New York State Comp and have been summoned for jury duty and also to be a witness in a grand jury trial. I am not suppose to receive money however both of the courts pay you for being there. Can I still go or do I tell them I am not able to attend and show a letter from my comp carrier.

Re: jury duty
Go to jury duty. Generally payment for jury duty is not considered earned income. They pay you if you are losing time from work or pay for your parking but they do not pay it in the form of wages. If you are paid, to be on the safe side, report it to the insurance company.
