Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina
Walked in Dollar General to buy some contact solution. After buying I then began to walk around the store to find my parents. I then noticed the manage staring me down. She then ran up on me, grabbed my bag and opened it. She then told me the next time I buy something and wanna walk around to leave my bag up front and I didn't even steal anything. Was wondering if I could file a lawsuit?

For what you described, unless you were injured, no. Shopkeepers have the right to use reasonable force to prevent suspected theft. Unfortunately, it is not wise to make a purchase and then walk around the store...that is a common tactic for theft. It is advisable to alert your parents that you are making the purchase and will be at the front and then go make the purchase.
