Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
I am doing research for a paper I'm writing. If a North Carolina resident were to break into a house of worship while under the influence of a drug such as LSD, could the person be pardoned for the breaking and entering while only being charged with possession of the LSD, or would they be charged for both crimes?

What difference does it make where the person resides? In order for North Carolina law to apply, it is important where the 'house of worship' is not where the criminal resides. Typically, one would not be 'pardoned' for relatively minor crimes like this but I suppose it is possible. It is more likely the person would just charged with the B&E unless they also had unconsumed LSD on them. Merely being under the influence of LSD would generally not result in a charge of 'possession'.
