Legal Question in Immigration Law in North Carolina

My friend has been in the us for 3 years illegally. When he cross the border from mexico to the us he got caught 3 times. How complicated is his status to become a residence? Can we put him as a family member and help him or for him to marry his girlfriend who is a us residence?

It's very complicated. No, you can't put him as a family member. Even marriage may not be the solution to his problem. He should consult a lawyer.
