Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

Frustrated Spouse Wants out of Deed

Our house has been on the market for over a year now. My husband is now behind a couple of house payments since his job / contract ended in late July and I am absolutely strapped. I would like to just cut my losses now, but my husband is determined to stick it out until the bank ''kicks him out''- his words exactly. All I want is OUT (of both marriage + house) What are my legal options here? Is this whole situation going to absolutely ruin my credit rating? How can I protect myself?

Consult with a domestic attorney about divorce and your options.

As for the house, it could hurt your credit rating. Please look at reputable sites online about what to do when you can't pay your mortgage (like government sites) - generally they advise you to contact the mortgage company. Do not put this off.
