Re: child custody

I am not licensed to practice in North Dakota, so you should talk with a North Dakota family law attorney.

You may seek custody and/or parenting time. It is up to the court to determine whether granting parenting time or custody to you is in the child's best interest. The court will follow North Dakota law regarding the standard for determining what is in the child's best interest.

The court determines this particular child's best interest by weighing the facts of your case, the facts of the other party's argument, the facts regarding this particular child, how the law places priority on some facts over others, and any other facts that influence the outcome of the decision. It's often an intricate and complicated puzzle.
