Trying to break a contract

I signed a contract to help me find a job--but it cost me $389 (in installments). My problem is that I can't get out of it--even though I found a job on my own without their help. I put $60 down and walked in their office once. I've really not benefited from what they offer in no way. The contract

says non-cancelable. But in the terms it says this: valid for 6 months from 11/28/04- 5/28/08. Can the miswritten date get me out of this even though I signed?

The date by itself is probably not enough to make the contract voidable. However, there might be other language in the contract that would allow you to get out of the contract. I would have to see the contract and review it to see if there are any ways to get out of it.

Of course, you can always just not pay the balance and make them sue you if they want to try to get it out of you. Either way, I would recommend meeting with a lawyer to at least review the contract and give you your options.
