How long do I have to file a civil lawsuit in Ohio

It depends on what you are suing for....if it's under a contract, it can go 6 years....if it's personal injury 2 years....if it's malpractice, it's 1 year....assault 1 year...civil rights claims are 2 years....but all of these have different interpretations related to when that clock starts running.....that is, i really need to know exactly what case it is to give you a definitive answer...feel free to call me directly if you want. 216.952.1990

It depends on the nature of the claim. Medical malpractice, one (1) year. Personal injury, two (2) years. A number of claims have a four (4) year time limit. Breach of a oral contract, six (6) years. Breach of a written contract, fifteen (15) years.
