Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
Language
Hi, I wanted to know if a privately owned business in Ohio can ask its employees not to speak their native language in an informal, small talk conversation while at work. There is nothing that relates to this issue in the policy book of the employer. Thank you!

Re: Language
As far as I am aware, Ohio law does not speak directly to this subject, although I don't believe that an employer can enforce such a request if it does not directly affect the performance of various job duties. However, it might open the employees up to possible termination based on insubordination.
