Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio
I am a metal fabricator and have a customer which wants me to build a "custom truck bed" for a new 2011 Ford F350.
This is a custom product and I require a 60% deposit and the balance due on receipt.
What kind of form do I need upon the final payment and delivery of the product so the customer doesn't come back on me at a later date after they have accepted the product?
Thanks,
David

As a Franchise Attorney I recommend you do a couple things. First collect 80% up front, and use a contract. The contract should specify payment of the remaining 20% balance is acceptance that the order meets with the full and unconditional approval. There may be some other clauses as well (warranty, etc.) Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
