Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio

odometer fraud

My small Corp bought a semi tractor from a bank in Utah. We were told it had 425,000 miles on it it was a repo. We took possession by going to Texas to pick it up . WE ran it for two weeks and the motor went bad. Detroit Desiel ran the computer and it really had 725,000 miles and the motor must be replaced. Apx cost $20.000 they tell us that we have no recourse. They offered us a load on top of the old one. Is this not fraud? I need help fast

Re: odometer fraud

It may or may not be fraud. Is the motor the original motor for the vehicle? If it is, then there may be fraud. Do you have the bank's statement regarding the mileage in writing. Is there evidence that the odometer has been tampered with? Fraud is a complicated claim, and it can be difficult to be successful. There are many questions that need to be answered.
