Registering Domain Names Internationally

Can a foreign person register a domain name (completely unassociated with him/her or the business they are involved in) and sell it to a domestic party.

(i.e. Joe Smith in France buys ABC.com and holds it for four years until "ABC" buys it from them. What are the trademark implications in this type of situation.

Re: Registering Domain Names Internationally

If you register a trademark that you dont own, the real owner will sue you and you will lose. if you want to try and sell domain names without braking the law register a generic name like books.com and sell that.
