Legal Question in Construction Law in Ohio
I had a contract with a fence company with a five year warranty. The fence is falling apart and when I called them, I found out the company was sold over the winter. They told me I was out of luck. Do I have any recourse on this?

It depends on a number of factors. Ohio law would control here. I am not a member of the Ohio Bar, I can only speak in general terms. The contract says what the length of the warranty would be as well as what would be covered under the warranty. There are a number of ways to buy a business, asset purchase and subsuming one corporation into another.
I have no further details based on your question. You may sue the person who did your fence individually in small claims court depending on the cost of the fence, your suit would be limited to the amount of collection allowed in Ohio's small claims court.
Good luck!!
