without a contract

i reluctantly allowed my now ex-boyfriend to use my credit card while he was between jobs. i cancelled it when he refused to give it back after a few weeks. he charged over $400. he agreed to pay me back but refused to sign a payment contract. is there anything i can do?

What you have is an oral agreement to pay a debt. If he does not pay you then because the size of the debt is small, you could file a small claims action to try and recover from him. If you have any questions, contact me.
