In Ohio, when a creditor places a lien on any real estate you might own, and then you pay the entire amount of the judgment, the creditor will often file a notice with the court that you have satisfied all amounts owed and the lien will be removed.

If the creditor had reported you to a credit reporting agency and that credit reporting agency was still inaccurately reporting that you owed the amount, you could send a copy of that satisfaction of judgment to the credit reporting agency and the credit reporting agency would have to alter its records to reflect that the judgment had been paid.
