Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

paid $5600.00 for credit service and firm has disappeared
I hired and paid a ''Law Firm'' over $5600.00 to help with ''credit card debt elimination'' I contacted these people on the internet and all of our correspondence was email, fax, or US mail. After getting the initial process started, they have now ''disappeared'' I can not reach them ANY way! Where do I turn? Is there anything that can be done?

There are methods to locate individuals based on identity of accounts, business names etc.

I would be happy to do preliminary investigation to determine if in fact they were attorneys, and if not, where to go next.
