Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
i was charged with posseion of marijuana when the cop pulled us over i told him i did not know what was in the car and that the vehicle was not mine when the marijuana was found my friend admited to it being his and none of it was mine but the cop said i was being charged with it to for not being honest with him can he charge me and him both with posseion of the same bag of marijuana if he admited to it being his

Plead not guilty at arraignment. Ask for a pre trial. Tell these facts to the prosecutor if you don't want to hire a lawyer. Be careful since any admitted knowledge or other admissions on your part will be held against you. Most of the time prosecutors are willing to drop charges against the innocent defendant once someone takes the hit for it.
