If he doesn't read you your rights he won't be able to use anything you say against you....that is the only effect....feel free to call me directly if you have any other questions. 216.952.1990

An officer is only required to read you your rights if he intends to interrogate you. If he fails to read you your rights he cannot use anything you say against you in court. But this does not prevent him from testifying as to his observations, such as slurred speech.
