child support/ domestic protection order
i missed a court hearing for a domestic protection order and child support was established at this hearing. the mother and my son are listed on the protection order. am i obligated to pay child support if i cannot see my son? how was child support calculated for me at $40,000 per year when i am unemployed? what course of action do i have at this point?

Re: child support/ domestic protection order
Child support and visitation are separate issues. A parent cannot cease child support payments in retribution of not seeing a child. Likewise, a parent cannot prevent a nonpaying parent from seeing the child according to the terms of the share parenting plan.
