Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

child visitation

my ex husband lives in ohio. I how live in North Dakota with our two minor children. He is supposed to have six weeks visitation every summer. In regards to the summer of 2007 he sent a money order made out to the air line not to me therefore i could not purchase the tickets and told him that he did not provide the money to me in the alloted time thus he did not retain visitation. he is now taking me to court stating that I have not followed the court order. What do you suggest I do.

First i believe i need to file a continuance but I do not know how. I can no longer afford attorney fees I am still paying off the last one.

Thank you

Re: child visitation

It sounds as though you do not want the children to visit their father. The money order mistake could have been corrected and vacation dates changed, even if it meant he would loose several weeks with the children due to the advance purchase of tickets. If this was an honest mistake, I think the court would see that there should have been some flexibility on your part.
